Further details of the day will be sent to members in due course. Welcome 2010 was a season of great expectations and great achievements. This annual report sets out our plans for the 2011 season and describes the many successes from junior cricket, the introduction of girls cricket, U9, 10, 13 and 15 league winners as well as the most cheering news of all – a league Championship and promotion for the 2nd XI. Congratulations to all Members whose contributions have continued the rejuvenation of Esher as a thriving, friendly, successful and local cricket club. Roll on 2011. Esher Cricket Club Mission Statement Esher Cricket Club aims to provide club cricket at the highest level achievable whilst observing the principles detailed in The MCC Spirit of Cricket at all times. In addition the Club aims to provide first rate coaching in the skills and etiquette of cricket to young cricketers from age 5 upwards with the purpose of introducing them to adult cricket at the optimum moment. Esher Cricket Club aims to operate within the relevant legal framework in a fiscally responsible manner and recognising and respecting the rights and concerns of our neighbours. In recognition of this, Duncan was awarded ‘Coach of the Year’ by Surrey County Cricket Club during the summer. In addition Alex Szepietowski was awarded ‘Young Coach of the Year’. Both awards were fully deserved and many congratulations to both Duncan and Alex. Another exciting ‘first’ for Esher was the introduction of girls’ cricket during the summer, thanks to the dedication and hard work of Zoe and Paul Byrne. We will be looking to build on this solid foundation in 2011. The general atmosphere at the Club continues I am delighted with the progress made in 2010 to improve and the goal of creating a genuine following our transitional year in 2009. The Club warm and friendly welcome for our members continues to strive for improvements in all areas and guests was achieved in 2010.
