Eleanor senior died in 1907. Henry married Mary Ann Pearson in 1873 and was a horsekeeper at a colliery. 1881 Evenwood and Barony 1891 Barracks St Helen Auckland 1901 Counden Grange Henry died in 1906. John was a coal miner. He married Dorothy Anne Eales in 1903 (#20) John died in 1956. Son Harold Eales probably died in 1984 in the Auckland region. Son William remained in Bishop Auckland. UK National Register 1939, High Melbourne Street, Bishop Auckland He died locally in 1994. Joseph was a coal miner (#16). He had married Louisa Oliver in 1904. Joseph died in 1938. Stanley travelled to Canada on the SS Montcalm in 1928 on an assisted passage to farm in Quebec. He later returned to England, dying in County Durham in 1985. Joseph Henry married Elsie Marley in 1931. UK National Register 1939, Oak Street, Bishop Auckland He died in 1977. Another son, Fred (b 1912), died in Tunisia during WW2. Son Henry Sayer was unmarried in 1911 (#30). He died in 1954. Appendix Joseph Kipling had farmed at Stackholm since at least 1807, when daughter Mary was born there. He was registered there for the general election of 1834. Poll book 1834 He was the illegitimate son (b1779) of Sarah Kipling of Blackton in Baldersdale. A DNA test of a descendant of Joseph (via #16) has matched with ‘Pinckney’, the name of Sarah’s mother’s family (suggesting that an uncle or cousin might have been Joseph’s father). He had married Jane (‘Jenny’) Hilton in 1803 at Romaldkirk when he was living at Kelton, a little lower down Lunedale, where son John was born in 1804. York Herald - Saturday 11 August 1804 Joseph and Jenny also had a son Joseph (1809) and daughters Elizabeth Isabella (1816) and Sarah (1819). 1841 Lunedale (Thomas Kipling was probably not a son but a hired worker) Son Joseph may have died in Barnard Castle in 1849.
