GABRIELE ZINGARETTI Curriculum Vitae (extract) Born in Cingoli (Macerata, Italy) on 30th March 1947 Academic qualifications and specializations: 1972 – University of Bologna: Degree in Mechanical Engineering; 1974 - University of Bologna Faculty of Medicine – Three-years postgraduate course in Biomedical Technologies; 1986 - Imede Lausanne (Ch): Course in Manufacturing Management; 1997 – University of Montreal in cooperation with the 4 Universities of the Emilia Romagna Region: Master of Health Services Administration and Management. Professional activity 1974-1979: Assistant with tenure at the Bioengineering Service S.Orsola University Hospital, Bologna, Italy; 1980-1989: Executive of Biotec International Spa (Pacemaker) with the position of General Manager until the company was taken over (1985) by Medtronic Inc., a world leader in the sector, and thereafter until 1989 as Manufacturing & Research Director; 1979 to date: Owner of a professional studio for the planning and design of hospitals and healthcare facilities. Major projects implemented in the Biomedical Technologies field 1972-1976: Study for the design of a new climatized incubator for newborns (designed and built for Degree Thesis); 1975-1982: Study and construction of a blood purifier using active carbons coated with methacrylate membranes (Coordinator); 1974-1985: Study and construction of an oxygen consumption measurement device (Coordinator); 1978-1986: Study and construction of a computed tomograph scanner (Coordinator).
