Endymion (crater) Endymion is a lunar crater that lies near the northeast limb of the Moon. It is located to the east of the Mare Frigoris, and north of the Lacus Temporis. To the southwest is the somewhat smaller Atlas crater. Because of its location, the Endymion crater has an oval appearance from foreshortening. Satellite craters. The Battle of Endymion Crater was one of the major battles of the Bloody Valentine War and centered around a major battle at an OMNI Lunar Supply Base in the Endymion Crater, this conflict became known as the "Grimaldi Front" and lasted almost a month but ended with the destruction of the Lunar Base through the usage of a Cyclops System. The floor of Endymion has been covered in low-albedo lava that gives it a dark appearance and makes it relatively easy to locate. The floor is nearly smooth.
