Baseball Manitoba Mission Statement To foster and provide leadership in the development of baseball to our members and the Manitoba baseball community. “Creating a memorable baseball experience!” 1 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE On behalf of Baseball Manitoba I would like to welcome all the athletes, volunteers, coaches, parents and family members to the 2016 Baseball Manitoba Awards Banquet. Tonight we celebrate baseball by recognizing outstanding performances and valuable contributions by our baseball community. This season at the Women’s World Baseball Classic Canada’s National Team celebrated a silver medal performance! Many of us celebrated the Blue Jays success this fall. The ultimate celebration in MLB after 108 years and one extra inning was by the Cubs capturing the World Series. As Canadians and fans of baseball we were interested, invested and followed these events pitch by pitch. Teams representing Manitoba at National championships celebrated success. Manitoba’s 16U Girls Team had an exciting and memorable tournament in Vaughn and earned a Silver medal! at the DQ 13U National Western Championship South Central won the Bronze medal! Manitoba teams had great success at the Western Canada Baseball Association Championships. At the AAA level, the Brandon Marlins captured the Gold medal in 21U competition. At 18U the Winnipeg South Chiefs also secured Gold. In AA Competition, 13U representative from Winkler collected a Gold medal. The Portage 15U team had a Gold medal tournament. Oak River brought home a Silver medal from the 18U tournament. Border West left Cold Lake, Alberta with a Gold medal in Senior AA play. Manitoba 14U Girls won a Bronze medal at the Western held in Dauphin. I am confident all Manitoba teams attending championships this past season had memorable baseball experiences. This night is to recognize countless hours and great effort to improve baseball in Manitoba. stakeholders such as players and coaches working together this season to improve and challenge each other. Parents and volunteers who strive to give opportunity with facilities and events. Congratulations to all nominees, award winners and inductees. I trust in this past season, memorable baseball experiences were created. I would on behalf of all of Baseball Manitoba like to acknowledge and show appreciation to our sponsors. Without their support we would not be able to provide the programs and services that we do. I would like to recognize and thank Baseball Manitoba’s Management Committee and our office staff for their dedication and efforts in helping baseball grow and prosper in our province. Finally, I would like to thank you, our members, for your commitment, passion, enthusiasm and time in helping deliver and grow baseball in Manitoba. Creating memorable baseball experiences!
