Report and Accounts 2021 | 1 Company Overview BMO Global Smaller Companies PLC (the ‘Company’) was founded in 1889 with an initial capital of £1m. A sister company to the very first investment trust, in time it developed a policy of investing in smaller companies and the Company’s net assets had a value of more than £1 billion as at 30 April 2021. Our purpose is to provide an investment vehicle which meets the needs of investors, whether large or small, who seek long-term investment returns from global smaller companies in an accessible, cost effective way. Our objective is to invest in smaller companies worldwide in order to secure a high total return and we remain one of only a few investment trusts to offer investors access to a broadly spread global smaller companies portfolio. A recognised “AIC Dividend Hero”, this will be the Company’s 51st consecutive year of dividend growth.
