UC Davis Special Collections began capturing the California Aggie website in October 2010. These historic website captures are generally six months behind the current website. Physical location: Researchers should contact Special Collections to request collections, as many are stored offsite. Repository: University of California, Davis. Library. Administrative History The student newspaper began on September 29, 1915 as the Weekly Agricola. It was renamed the University Farm Agricola in 1916 and became the California Aggie in November 1922. In 2010, the Aggie went from a Monday-Friday print publication schedule to publishing a print edition Monday-Thursday. In April 2013, the Aggie became a weekly print publication, issuing a printed newspaper on Thursdays. The Aggie updates the content on their website throughout the week. Scope and Content Special Collections began capturing the California Aggie website in October 2010 using the California Digital Library's Web Archiving Service (WAS). Please note that for all sites in WAS, a six-month embargo is placed on all captured content before it can be made publicly available. Arrangement of the Collection The captures are arranged in chronological order.
