Authority: Resolution 27086 adopted November 12,1969; Resolution 35994 adopted May 4, 1976 Membership: Twenty-one members, one-half of whom must be made up of consumers of services, low income and minority persons shall be represented in proportion to their number in the area; one representative of San Mateo County nutrition project. The majority of the commissioners must be over 60 years of age. Term: 3 years; maximum of 9 years Duties: Advises the Board of Supervisors, develops and conducts programs in conformity with specific provisions of Older Americans Act of 1965 subject to approval of the Board of Supervisors. Appointment: Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors or the Appointments Committee conducts interviews. Authority: Ordinance 2614 adopted October 16, 1979, creating Division VI, Section 6358; Board actions May 26, 1981, March 26, 1985 and November 7, 1995 Membership: Eighteen members including nine active Farmers/Growers, three public members, the County Agricultural Commissioner, the State Agricultural Advisor, one Banker involved with the Production Credit Association, one member involved in Agricultural Marketing and two Conservationists. Term: 4 years; maximum 12 years (applies only after 1995) Duties: To actively assist in the preservation of agriculture on the Coastside, advising and recommending to the County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
