The dedication marked the culmination ofo nearly two years of effort by the college , alumni and students and the community to fund the restoration project.. In a departure from traditional dedication ceremonies , the day's' events included a concert performed by a specially formed college-community- chorus.. The chorus performed iiieethoven's' "C" Major Mass"" and "The" 100th Psalm"" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.. The chorus was accompanied!) by the Millersville College- -¬ ty Orchestra.. Biemesderfer , president emeritus and form er first lady of he* college for whom ,the building has been named , were in attendance at both events.. The concert and reception were by invitation only.. However, a community open house was held that evening from 7:30: to 9 p.m.. I ! The majority of the work has been completed , however , sev¬- , eral small tasks have been left unfinished to be completed at' a date later this year.. Of special interest in the new facility is a larger-than-lifesize- - portrait of Dr.. and Mrs.. D.. L.. Biemesderfer which has been hung in the lobby area.. The portrait was painted by Rosemarie Sloat of Reading. A new centrally located staircase has been erected and two small side stairwells have been removed..
