Last year he partnered with Fernhill Eagle (shown here) to finish 18th in the horse’s first four-star. The duo placed 2nd in Advanced at Red Hill in early March. Mighty Nice, owned by Bruce Duchossois, who has been living up to his name, is slated to make his four-star debut. Phillip would love a ticket to his fifth Olympics. Michael Pollard hadn’t declared by press time when he sat in second place overall. His wife Nathalie confirmed that he plans on a return engagement at Rolex with Icarus III and Wonderful Will. Boyd Martin, another iron man/equestrian triathlete, had not declared his entries at press time but everyone would love to see wunderkind Neville Bardos (see cover), 7th at Burghley last September, compete for a berth on the Olympic team. Boyd’s chances are good, however, with depth to his four-star bench: Remington XXV (pictured, 9th 2011 Rolex), Otis Barbotiere or the veteran Yin Yang Yo.
