A new minute hooded beetle species identified as representative of the orientalis group of the genus Clypastraea Haldeman, 1842 is described and illustrated from Baltic amber. This finding proofs the existence and distribution of this genus in the Eocene at least in the Fennosarmatian part of Laurasia.
