(Sept. 18, 1948, at Des Moines, Iowa) Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium. Besides Beef Bowl festivities, 1949: Drake 40, South Dakota State 0 the Jackrabbits also will be playing in support of the Samaritan’s Feet organization, (Sept. 17, 1949, at Des Moines, Iowa) which provides shoes to people in need both locally and internationally. 1957: Drake 25, South Dakota State 7 The fourth-ranked Jackrabbits are 2-0 after posting wins of 51-13 over Duquesne (Sept. 28, 1957, at Des Moines, Iowa and 31-27 at Montana State. SDSU’s high-powered offense totaled 1,035 yards of total 1958: South Dakota State 12, Drake 6 offense in the two games. (Sept. 13, 1958, at Brookings) Drake, meanwhile, enters tonight’s game with a 1-1 record. The Bulldogs opened 1964: Drake 37, South Dakota State 15 with a 77-7 defeat at the hands of the University of South Dakota on Sept. 2, then (Nov. 7, 1964, at Des Moines, Iowa) rebounded with a 55-14 home win over NAIA member Southwestern (Kan.) last week. 1967: Drake 34, South Dakota State 21 (Nov. 4, 1967, at Brookings) THE SERIES: Saturday’s game will mark the second year in a row and 12th time 1968: Drake 28, South Dakota State 20 overall that SDSU and Drake have met on the gridiron. Drake holds an 8-3 advantage (Nov. 16, 1968, at Des Moines, Iowa) in the series which dates back to 1945, but the Jackrabbits have won the last two 1969: Drake 21, South Dakota State 16 matchups, starting with a 20-3 SDSU road victory in 1983.
