The law takes effect on February 14 for one year from February 15 unless the lease pro- vides for a longer period or the lessee does not intend to renew the lease, provided that the lessee is occupying the leased premises. The decision is effective from February 15 and will be published in the official gazette. Emir issues two decrees DOHA: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Decree No. 12 of 2016 ratifying an agreement between the Qatar and Japan on avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on Income and the annexed protocol signed in Tokyo last February 20.
