INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS OF SOCIAL WORK GLOBAL DIRECTORY OF SCHOOLS OF SOCIAL WORK CENSUS 2020 Complied by Professor John Victor Rautenbach Board Member: International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) Chair: Standing Committee on the World Census of Social Work Programs Head of Department: University of Zululand, South Africa INTRODUCTION Every ten years, the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) conducts a world census of social work education programs offering at least one degree program in social work. The major outcome of the census is this directory of contact details for all the known social work education programs in the world. In the year 2000, the directory contained details of 1384 programs from 114 countries. By 2010 it grew to include 2110 social work degree sites in 125 countries. By the end of 2020 the directory recorded details for 3572 social work training institutions from 159 countries in the world. A digital voluntary census was conducted using an online survey that yielded 2230 unique submissions. In addition, many participants submitted lists of details for training institutions in their areas. These were in multiple formats. The lists were then synthesised and added to the directory. The final list was subjected to regional verification and data cleaning. It is presented in this document in an address book format below.
