Aft er starti ng out slowly in 2009, the Lady Flames fi nished strong in conference play, winning six of their last seven Big South regular season contests before making a run in the postseason tournament. Head Coach Paul Wetmore, returning for his 17th season, says this year’s squad is more confi dent and more experienced, despite only having one senior team member. “We had a great fi nish last year, and it was one we really anti ci- pated and we worked for,” Wetmore said. “In the game of soft ball, confi dence is so important. I think the returners really saw that we have the capability to win, and that’s going to be a big asset to us.” As far as this season goes, Wetmore says he is cauti ously opti misti c. He expects a lot from the
