Table of Contents/Quick Facts 3 Charlotte Women’s Golf Holly Clark Head Coach 3rd Season (Tennessee, 2007) Head Coach Holly Clark was announced as the program’s first-ever leader on November 11, 2015 guiding the start up program through recruiting, expansion of the Stubblefield Golf Center at Rocky River, the first schedule and their inaugural season in 2017-18. Clark, cranking up her second women’s golf program after doing the same at Carson-Newman in Tennessee, comes to Charlotte after being an assistant coach at Vanderbilt. Clark put together another highly successful year with the 49ers in just her second season posting three new school- record rounds and tying two more. Charlotte tied their previous best team round of 287 twice before topping it three times at 280 (Augusta Invitational) along with 281 and 286 both at the C-USA Tournament. After the individual record rounds, the 49ers set a new 54-hole record four different times leading with their 858 at the C-USA Championship finishing as the runner-up. The second place finish at the C-USA Championship (and Brickyard Intercollegiate) established a new top finish overall. The Niners posted 34 individual rounds under par scoring 12 top-10 finishes and half a dozen top-five’s. The new low round of 68 was tied sixtimes by Ellinor Sudow, Cecilie Finne-Ipsen (twice), Ashley Fowler and Siarra Stout (twice). Narrowly missing out on a postseason berth as the “first team out,” Clark helped three different players (Finne-Ipsen, Farrell and Sudow) earn the program’s first player of the week honors as well as three all-conference awards with Finne-Ipsen (first team), Stout (third) and Farrell (Most Improved in C-USA) taking home accolades. Just over a year after the announcement of Clark joining the start-up program, the first commit in Siarra Stout out of Tennessee became the first signee for the program. The inaugural schedule was announced on June 1, 2017 with history officially being made on September 15, 2017. For the first time as a program, the 49ers teed it up at the Mason Rudolph Championship as sophomore transfer Madison Barnett hit the first-ever tee shot for the program. Ashley Fowler led the Niners with a two-over tournament of 71-73-74-218 in the first weekend of action. Less than a week later, Charlotte posted their best team finish of the year and one of five top-10 finishes with a third place spot at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan. In a year of many firsts, Stout earned the program’s first top-five finish with her six-over 222 (74-73-75). The fall schedule wrapped up with a fifth place finish at the Yale Women’s Intercollegiate before 11th at the Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville completed the first four tournaments of the year. After a tie for 11th opened up the spring schedule in late February during a rain-hampered The Dickson, Charlotte re- wrote the team record books with a second round 291 (+3) followed by a final round 287 (-1) to take home fourth in the River Landing Classic. Both teams scores are now one and two in the young program’s history for best team rounds all-time. The 49ers closed out the inaugural season with a third place finish in the one-day dash of the Bryan Preview before taking home ninth in the Conference USA Championship. Ellinor Sudow led the way at the year-end tournament with a spot tied for 11th going 77-72-74- 223 (+7) at the Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to Charlotte and in the fall portion of the 2015, Clark has helped the Commodores rack up a pair of top-five finishes including a tie for first in the Las Vegas Intercollegiate just before Halloween. Clark has spent the last six seasons with Vanderbilt. She helped Vanderbilt to four NCAA Championship appearances and six-straight NCAA Regional bids. During her time in Nash- ville, Clark helped coach a two-time SEC Player of the Year, two first-team All-Americans, a NCAA regional champion and a SEC Freshman of the Year. In her first year with the start-up Eagles, Clark guided Carson-Newman to the 2009 South Atlantic Conference Cham- pionship and had an individual earn a NCAA Regional bid in their first year of competition. The Eagles team earned a NCAA Regional berth in the very next season of 2010. In her playing days, Clark was a four-year star at Tennessee helping lead the Volunteers to a 2006 NCAA East Regional championship. In the classroom, Clark earned NGCA Academic All-America honors, Academic All-SEC honors and was named to the All-SEC Good Works team for her community service and giving back efforts. In 2003, Clark led the Morristown West High School Lady Trojans to the 2003 state title as the individual state champion in Tennessee. 4 Head Coach Holly Clark Charlotte Women’s
