Dowd. (775) 423-3253 [email protected] Publishers Desk Kumusta There are schools that teach the Filipino martial arts throughout the world. These are schools from the FMAdigest schools database. Last year the FMAdigest put out a Special Issue on all the schools listed in the schools database, and found a lot of misinformation. Why was this? Mostly because schools did not keep information on their schools current; well what can the FMAdigest say only that if not told then it does not know. And if the school information is out of date or no longer open, what can this indicate? The owner or representative is not in- terested in up-to-date advertisement? Lazy, irresponsible, or does it just show a lack of professionalism and pride? The FMAdigest when receiving school information ensures that the school has some sort of Filipino martial arts program in its teachings. If not then it does not go into the schools database. The FMAdigest is for Filipino martial arts only. Yes it is a fact that schools teach Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, etc in their school however as long as there, is some Filipino martial arts being taught then the schools information will be entered into the database. Take a look to see if your school is listed or if there is a school near you. If not listed then most likely no one has submitted it. So as they say let your fingers do the walking and find a school near you. Even when visiting outside of your country visit some of the schools listed if in the area. Build your skill, your abilities, and your knowledge. Please visit the FMAdigest schools database, if the school does not have a website you most likely will find an Email address you can use to contact the school. Maraming Salamat Po Africa - C. R. M.
