Championships.and.third.at.the.West.Regional. last.year,.Washington.led.the.entire.field.at.the. 2006.NCAA.Championships.for.three.rounds. before.falling.to.a.ninth.place.finish.when.it.was. all.said.and.done. PLAYERS . For.sixth-year.head.coach.Matt.Thurmond,. that.ninth.place.finish.had.more.significance. than.a.school-record.third-place.finish.in.2005. –.a.year.that.also.saw.Washington.win.the.Pac- 10.title.and.place.third.at.regionals.. “That.was.quite.a.run.over.the.last.two.years. so.it.felt.like.the.last.year.in.many.ways.was.a. the.team’s.success.the.past.two.seasons.
