There have been many changes over the years, from humble beginnings playing at local schools such as Randwick, Petone Central and Hutt Intermediate, through to being based at our own facilities in Taita. Some things remain the same however, and I encourage you to help and support especially our young players to enjoy their games and develop a life-long love of Netball. I would like to start with a huge thank you to the business people from within our community whose assistance enables us to foster, promote, nurture, and develop netball in the Hutt Valley. We are so grateful for your generosity and ongoing support of our Centre. Thank you to major junior sponsors Liz and Chris Boon from McDonald’s Hutt Valley who are not only our major junior netball sponsor, but also invest in our representatives and our tour- naments. Thank you to Dorothy Spotswood for her financial contribution to our representative pro- gramme, and for also being an active supporter of our teams. Thank you to our funders NZ Racing Board, One Foundation and Pelorus Trust. The grants re- ceived from these organisations are crucial to the successful operation of our Centre and enable us to continue to deliver excellent netball. We are lucky to have a very supportive and loyal group of grade sponsors and supporters. A big thank you to the following: Betteridge Engineering Ltd, Atiawa Toa FM, Jarvis Plumbgas, Proactive Physio, ECA Cleaning, Hayne & Son Contractors, Fisher & Paykel, and New Zealand Towel Supply. A highlight this year for me was attending the Hutt Valley Sports Awards where our Centre Manager Anita Mooney was named the Administrator of the Year and Gareth Fowler the Official of the Year. What an outstanding achievement for you both! In 2018 Hutt Valley netballer Karin Burger made her Silver Ferns debut. Karin started her New Zealand netball career right here in the Hutt Valley, playing for NNCU. A big congratula- tions to Karin, and a huge thank you for visiting our Centre during the year to help develop our young players.
