Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long- term complications may include severe arthritis. Product was distributed across Western Canada in grocery and convenience retail stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario (West of Thunder Bay). No products have been sold East of Thunder Bay. Although no lab tests have confirmed the presence of Salmonella in these products and no illnesses have been reported, we are voluntarily issuing the immediate recall of these products in conjunction with CFIA guidance with an abundance of caution and with adherence to strict quality standards for all Old Dutch Foods products. Old Dutch sales personnel will be in contact with all Customers who have purchased the recalled product and will be collecting product for quarantine and destruction issuing a full credit to each Customer. Consumers who have the recalled product identified above in their possession are asked to dispose of the product immediately and contact Old Dutch Foods Ltd.
