1 UNIT FIVE – GNOSIS, BLACK FLAME AND THE QLIPHOTH Dark Gate • The Black Flame was an expression first used by Michael A. Aquino in the 1970’s 2 • The Black Flame is the primordial aspect that burns inside the depth of the left- hand path practitioner whether they be a Satanist or a Luciferian. • It is the divine spark within each of us constituting intellect, desire, imagination, inner light and divine consciousness. • It is an inner driving force that seeks to strengthen our will and gives us the ability to ascend back to our origins within Satan/Lucifer. • It separates animals from humans. • The Black Flame is symbolic; and it is represented in the seal of infernal union between Samael and Lilith surrounded by the power of the ALL or Satan/Lucifer. • The divine spark or Black Flame is fuelled by gnosis or spiritual knowledge of ourselves and of the universe. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth THE BLACK FLAME • It is the primordial energy within us that gives us spiritual power. 3 • The Black Flame is the gnosis/Daath that is the gate to the Sitra Ahra. • The Sitra Ahra is the outer darkness on the way back to Tiamat’s womb. • In other words, it is a reference to the Qliphoth or the opposing force in the Sephirot Tree in the Kabballah. • The diagram below shows how the Self or Ego (the dayside or mundane mind) as it is connected to the Black Flame through the unconscious or nightside mind. This is in turn connected to the cosmos or the void. • The light and dark aspects of self are a part of the Black Flame within. All aspects of you are encompassed within the aspect of ‘Self’ which is driven by the Black Flame within. • It is an individual spiritual awakening. • This process is accessed via meditation, dream working and astral projection. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth THE BLACK FLAME 4 • Gnosis is spiritual experiential knowledge or knowing. 5 • The word originated from the Greek word γνῶσις meaning knowledge. • Gnosis is also commonly called Daath. • It is knowledge we do not learn or read or study for but rather it comes from within ourselves and usually pertains to knowledge through spirituality that encompasses the whole person. • Working with the Black Flame will cause gnosis as will working with the Qliphoth. • This usually happens through meditative practise, dream and astral workings. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth GNOSIS • In ancient mysticism there is a concept called the Kabballah which is used to 6 explain the way in which creation (the finite) interacts with God, the Ein Sof or the infinite. • Some use it as a proforma for the soul and others use it as a proforma for the higher self. • This concept dates back to the Assyrians and was adopted by Jewish mystics during medieval times. • The modern esoteric concept of Kabballah has since been adopted by the modern occult. • The Kabballah has two aspects, the Tree of Life and the Qliphoth or the Tree of Death. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth THE QLIPHOTH • The Tree of Life is about the creation of the human soul and has 10 nodes or 7 Sephiroth which represent different archetypes and aspects of God. • Each node or Sephiroth can be an angel, a deity, celestial body or quality. • The Qliphoth on the other hand is the Tree of Death/Tree of Daath. • It Is the waste that is associated with creation and banished from the tree of life. • Lilith is said to have tempted Eve to eat of the tree of knowledge (The Qliphoth) in order to entice man to Godhead. This is the left hand of the Kabballah. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH 8 • The circles are called sephirot • The columns in the diagram are also called pillars and they represent a quality, electrical current or type of ritualistic magic. • You will find a link to the Sephiroth Tree here. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH • Each Sephiroth is the opposite to the Holy Sephiroth on the Tree of Life and it is 9 thought to represent evil or impure spiritual forces. • This collectively is also called the Sitra Ahra. • The Sitra Ahra is the way back through the subconscious mind to the abyss or the womb of Tiamat. • In the original Kabbalistic cosmology, the Qliphoth were shells surrounding holiness that represented obstacles to holiness. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH 10 • Some believe the Qliphoth to be husks or shells left over from an attempt at creation by God, the leftovers being a result of a divine force too powerful for the Sephiroth and these husks or shells are inhabited by Demons. • Others believe that the Qliphoth is a shadow of the holy Sephiroth in the abyss. • Some also believe that the Qliphoth is the exact mirror opposite of the Sephiroth. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH 11 • In a meditation sequence that can take months, you start from the bottom at Nahemoth and work your way up through the Qlippa which is what the circles are called. • The lines are still pillars but called the tunnels of Set. There are 22 of them. • These tunnels are inhabited by a variety of lower level demons, vampires, succubi and incubi etc. • You access these and the Qlippa through meditation and astral travel. • You can see the Qliphoth or Tree of Death here. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH • The journey through the Qlipha represents a descent into the underworld, 12 metaphysical death and rebirth and ascent to Godhood. • Your journey starts at the bottom of the Tree of Death with several trials you must undertake and pass. • You then move to Daath which is the period of gnosis or death to self. • Daath is the door that leads from the first triad to the second and third. • You finally reveal your shadow self and learn your special inner skills and where you recreate yourself in order to ascend to Godhood. • This can take a long time to achieve and is not for the impatient. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth QLIPHOTH • Nahemoth is your starting point. 13 • It represents all worldly pleasures and is why it is called the opening of the gates of the Sitra Ahra. It is the start on the path to death of the old, gnosis and life of the new. • The calling on this sphere will open the way to the Sitra Ahra, elevate the consciousness of the practitioner by awakening the third eye chakra and causing the practitioner to start the trials of the spheres. • This will be a working with Lilith/Naamah and will involve calling upon her name to open the way to ascension. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth 1. QLIPHOTH MEDITATIONS - NAHEMOTH • For this meditation you need to ensure you have; 14 • Red and black candles. • Athame and chalice. • Red wine offering. • Frankincense Incense. • A sigil of Lilith imbued with your own blood. • Your third eye chakra anointed with your own blood. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth 1. QLIPHOTH MEDITATIONS - NAHEMOTH • You sit and meditate and focus on your breathing in the darkness. 15 • It is often thought that doing this in a wooded area at night is best. • Relax your mind and chant to Lilith to open the Sitra Ahra for you. Lilith’s enn is “Renich biasa avage Lilith lirach”. • While you are chanting, be aware of your Kundalini rising from the base of your spine (your Muladhara chakra) up through your chakras to the third eye. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth 1. QLIPHOTH MEDITATIONS - NAHEMOTH • Imagine you are inside a warm dark place. 16 • Visualise yourself standing before Lilith in a completely black space devoid of all light. • Visualise her opening the way for you to go through the gate of your unconscious mind, ask her for direction. • Lilith will open her womb to you. • You may feel uneasiness, or you may get a strong emotional impulse. • When you are done with your meditation write down everything you saw and felt. • Thank Lilith for her being with you. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth 1. QLIPHOTH MEDITATIONS - NAHEMOTH • You may find you are exposed to aspects of self you do not want to accept. 17 • Here you will be introduced to lunar magick as Gamaliel is a reference to the dark side of the moon, witchcraft and sexual alchemy. • This sphere has its place in the realm of dreams and oftentimes those that we deny or relegate to the subconscious mind. • Again, for this exercise, you will need; • Black and Red candles. • Athame and chalice. • Red wine offering. • Frankincense Incense. • A full dark moon. • A sigil of Lilith tainted with your own blood or sexual fluids. • Ritual tools as per your usual workings. Gnosis, The Black Flame and the Qliphoth 2. QLIPHOTH MEDITATIONS - GAMALIEL • Before you meditate or use dream work, try sexual abstinence and sleep deprivation for a couple of days. 18 • Your meditation will focus on the Svadisthana or Sacral Chakra. • If you choose to practise sex magick to invoke Lilith, you wait until the crescendo of climax to call out to her asking her to open the portal to Gamaliel. • Your blood and sexual fluids will be an offering. Incubi and succubi may come to you, do not give in as you can be seduced and vampirised and left as a shell. • Otherwise you will meditate on Lilith’s sigil and ask her to open the portal to Gamaliel.
