AG News Over-what? Overwatch! December 5,2020 Winston: (in the background holding some paperwork.) To all Agents of- …… To all the Agents of Overwatch… No. That's not right.. ….. To All former Agents of Overwatch, this is Winston! Ha. Ha. Obviously. …. Over 30 years ago, the Omnics declared war. The nation's of the world didn't know how to respond until they called upon a small group of heroes. Overwatch was created to save humanity from the Omnic Crisis. We became the greatest champions of peace and progress mankind has ever seen! You were chosen because you have powers and abilities that made you - You joined because you…. You already know this. Look, the people decided they were better off without us. They even called us criminals! They tore our family apart. But look around! Someone has to do something! We have to do something! We can make a difference again. The world needs us now, more than ever! Are you with me? by AG Stormie Now that Winston has laid before you the biggest question in Overwatch history, I guess we can move on to the more positive side and current updates of what has been happening with the game. If you're a fan of the game, like myself, tune in and see what's new. If you're not, well, give it a look regardless. You might get curious enough to actually take a look at the game and try it. You might like it. But back to the point at hand; Overwatch updates! There are a few new things going on with the game that maybe you didn't notice or know about, which is why I'm here to tell you about them. Today we have Hero Updates, a new little surprise called the Priority Pass, and a few more Hero Updates on some other favorites of ours. To start us off on the list of Heroes, we have: ● Ana- Her Biotic Grenade will now pass through allies with full health. ● Brigitte: While she is one of the more newer hero's that have joined, her update was more of a downgrade than others. Her base health has dropped from 175 to 150. ● Who doesn't love our Hanzo?- You can now manually cancel his Storm Arrows. ● How about that Ice Princess, Mei?- You can now manually destroy her ice wall while she is dead. ● Symetra- Guess there is more going back in time. Manually able to destroy her teleporter. ● Torbjorn- Turret Time? I don't think so. Deployed Turrets can now be destroyed manually while dead. At least there were more positives than negatives in that line up of hero's. More to come later on on some others. Up next, that little surprise called Priority Pass now/soon to be available. Before we get into all that, let me ask you this: how do you feel about those long queues just to load into a match? More so when you choose Damage as your role for the match? Not fun, is it? Well, Priority Pass should make it better! Before I get ahead of myself, I want to clarify that this is for both Quickplay and Competitive. According to the principal game designer Scott Mercer, that the latest idea and trial going on is the Priority Pass. With the Priority Pass, his team hopes to address the long Damage queue times by rewarding players that chose to queue as Flex players and play as a different role for a game or two with passes that will help decrease their queue times in the future. Don't worry if you don't entirely understand what was just said, I plan on explaining it a little more thoroughly. The most obvious and possibly important question is WHAT exactly is Priority Pass? Well, let me tell you. When you queue for Overwatch, you choose Tank, Support, or Damage. Because Quick Play and Competitive are both Role Queue where you need two Tank players, two Support players, and two Damage players, for there to be even queue times between the roles there’d have to be equivalent populations of players who want to play each role. As it turns out, Damage is very popular. Because Damage is so popular, it’s the main reason we see longer queue times for Damage players. We’ve been looking to address this issue, and we believe Priority Pass is one way to do that. You can queue up as a Flex player—someone who is willing to play Tank, Support, or Damage—and we’ll provide you with Priority Passes. Then, if you wish to play as Damage, which is the most impacted role in terms of queue times, you can spend those passes to lower your queue times. More players choosing to flex helps equalize our role populations in the queues, which should also help decrease the queue time imbalance between roles that players currently experience. You’re provided a number of passes based on if you win or lose, and we provide a large number of those, though we might change that number over time. By playing one Flex game, you’ll get multiple games where you have Priority Passes to use for Damage, and you can save up to 40 these passes. And that's all according to the principal game designer Scott Mercer. I think the last thing on the agenda here is an update on some of our others heroes and what's going on with them. First up, we have : ● Baptiste: Can you get into the matrix? Well, with Baptiste, the distance of his Amplification Matrix has extended from 5 meters to 9 meters. ● Lucio: Nothing like sliding on those walls, right? Well, his Wall Jump Boost will now happen by default immediately releasing Jump to leave the wall instead of requiring a second jump action. This new setting does also appear on Lucio's new setting page, labeled as 'Wall Jump On Release.' Another update for him is you are now able to cancel wall rides by pressing the Crouch action which will not trigger an automatic jump. ● Well, seems we are coming to the end of our roll, so to speak. I have witty jokes for days. But before we go, we have one more Hero to talk about. Our mighty little Wrecking Ball. With this guy, his Grappling Claw now has a more improved target detection to help with connecting to walls be more consistent. Nothing like consistency of balls on walls. Well, fellow hero I think that does it for this report. Be sure to check back in on us and see what other news we might have going and what we are up to. Majority of us are friendly and don't bite… Ahem! I obviously can't speak for the rest of the heroes. But you are more than welcome to return once again!
