SLII in consortium with ASCO Page 3 f Assessment Report Detailed Assessment, Prioritisation, and Design for Reinstating / Constructing Damaged, Washed Away and Missing River Crossings on the Rural Road Network in Kaduna State EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Kaduna State Government has taken the initiative to improve the rural road network of the state under the Rural Access and Mobility Program (RAMP) of the Nigerian Government with the assistance of the World Bank. Under the present component of the project only structures on the river crossings are being prioritised, designed and constructed The Kaduna State Ministry of Works and Transport had awarded the work for the Consultancy Services to the SNC Lavalin International Inc. The Consultants mobilised and started the services by the end of August 2007. Objectives The Terms of References of the present study require the consultants to undertake the following: (i). Inspection of each of the identified river crossings / network structures as listed and an assessment of the damage prioritised and costed in line with the specified criteria. (ii). Engineering Design, Preparation of Bidding Documents and assistance in the bidding and evaluation process for culverts and small bridges
