In the first main draw match on Stadium, Albert Ramos-Vinolas looks to continue his strong run of form when he faces Fabio Fognini. The Spaniard is coming off a run to the final at the inaugural Chengdu Open two weeks ago (l. to Khachanov) and has great memories from the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event, having upset Roger Federer last year for his first Top 10 victory. He is seeking his first win over Fognini, who owns a 6-0 lead in their FedEx ATP Head2Head. Next on Stadium is a match-up of comeback campaigns between 32-year-olds, as Janko Tipsarevic takes on Philipp Kohlschreiber. Tipsarevic, who has returned to action this year following knee and foot issues, has soared from outside the Top 600 of the Emirates ATP Rankings to his current position of World No. 173. He most recently won his first pro title in nearly four years, as a qualifier at the Qingdao Challenger in August, and reached the semi-finals at the ATP World Tour event in Shenzhen. Kohlschreiber is recovering from a stress fracture in his right foot and seeking his first match win since the Rio Olympics. Two of the three Chinese players in the draw open their bids on Sunday, with wild card Di Wu and Zhe Li set to face No. 16 seed Pablo Cuevas and Kevin Anderson, respectively. Two weeks ago, Wu claimed his first ATP World Tour match win in Chengdu (d. Kravchuk). The 25-year-old became the first Chinese to win an ATP Challenger Tour title earlier this year in Maui, USA (d. Edmund). BIG FOUR DOMINANCE: The ‘Big Four’ of Djokovic, Murray, Nadal and Federer have won 54 of the last 59 ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, which dates back to Nadal’s triumph at Monte-Carlo in 2010. The only other players to emerge with an ATP Masters 1000 title are Robin Soderling (2010 Paris), David Ferrer (2011 Paris), Stan Wawrinka (2014 Monte-Carlo) , Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2014 Toronto) and Marin Cilic (2016 Cincinnati). Here is a breakdown of the ATP Masters 1000 titles won during that time: Djokovic (25), Nadal (13), Federer (8) and Murray (8).
