VALUE ADDED DIGITAL LIFESTYLE AMDOCS > CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE SYSTEMS INNOVATION ANNUAL REPORT 2008 Amdocs | 2008 Annual Report 1 AROUND THE GLOBE, AMDOCS IS HELPING SERVICE PROVIDERS TO DELIVER THE EMERGING DIGITAL LIFESTYLE. THIS IS OUR SINGULAR INDUSTRY FOCUS, AND PART OF OUR DIVERSE BUSINESS MODEL GEARED FOR GROWTH AND RESILIENCE. Focus Dov Baharav Bruce K. Anderson President and Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board, Amdocs Management Limited; Amdocs Limited Director, Amdocs Limited Amdocs | 2008 Annual Report 3 DEAR FELLOW SHAREHOLDERS: Fiscal year 2008 comes to A close amid Headlines OF government BAILOUTS AND plunging GLOBAL EQUITY MARKETS. AND YET, FOR AMDOCS, IT WAS anotHer GOOD YEAR. We ACHIEVED DOUBLE-DIGIT revenue groWTH, increased our customer Base BY more THan 20 neW customers and deepened our relationsHIPS WITH otHers. We ALSO GREW our pipeline OF future Business. We Believe THE Keys to our groWTH are our diverse Business model and focus on THE converging communications, media and entertainment industry. Diversity OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS, AMDOCS HAS EVOLVED. WHILE WE REMAIN FOCUSED ON THE COMMUNICATIONS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, WE ADDRESS A MUCH BROADER, MORE DIVERSE MARKET AND DO SO FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH. Amdocs | 2008 Annual Report 5 OUR DIVERSE, DISTRIBUTED BUSINESS MODEL Over the last several years, Amdocs has evolved. With our new portfolio of customer experience systems, Amdocs CES 7.5, we now support the entire business and network operations of our customers. We deliver products and services to an array of service providers, including multi-affiliate mobile companies, incumbent quadruple-play providers, mobile virtual network enablers, cable multi-service operators and satellite firms. We operate in geographies as diverse as China and India, Africa and Thailand, Estonia and Uruguay. And we are helping to guide our customers along the long-term trajectory of what we call “the digital lifestyle.” This distributed business model enables us to accelerate performance in some areas while we pursue new opportunities in others. So, while we remain focused on the communications, media and entertainment industry, we address a much broader, more diverse market and do so from a position of strength, as shown by our progress in these growth areas in FY08: > Managed services AND consulting > Operational-Support Systems (OSS) > BROADBAND CABLE AND Satellite > Emerging MARKETS > THE digital lifestyle GROWTH MANAGED SERVICES CAN PROVIDE US A “sAFE HArbor” IN A DOWN ECONOMY, WHEN SERVICE PROVIDERS MAY CONSIDER OUTSOURCING AS A MEANS TO ACHIEVE LARGE AND IMMEDIATE COST-SAVINGS. BROADBAND CABLE AND SATELLITE In 2005, Amdocs’ acquisition of DST Innovis helped extend our expertise in billing and customer care to broadband cable and satellite operators. Over the past several releases of our product portfolio, we integrated these capabilities into our core portfolio and, in April 2008, we enriched our OSS offering for pay-TV providers by acquiring JacobsRimell Ltd. With fulfillment applications for broadband cable services, our JacobsRimell assets enable us to provide what we see as the first complete order-to-cash offering for broadband cable and satellite service providers. We view our key win with Comcast for the deployment of Amdocs CES 7.5 applications for customer care, billing and OSS, as a validation of our ability to meet the integrated BSS and OSS needs of cable, satellite and other “quadruple play” providers. It is worth noting that, historically, pay-TV providers fare relatively well in trying times as consumers “cocoon” at home, diverting entertainment costs to the television. Amdocs | 2008 Annual Report 9 THE DIGITAL LIFESTYLE Digital technologies have changed—and will continue to change—the game for service providers. Witness the ongoing popularity of Apple’s iPhone, the sudden arrival and swift adoption of Google’s Android open mobile platform, and the changing dynamics among content providers. Look, too, at your own use of technology: the media we download, the applications we choose and the devices we use all serve to further our lifestyle—the digital lifestyle. Digital Lifestyle Amdocs understands that, in the context of the digital lifestyle, In the first quarter of FY08, we announced an agreement to service providers need to: monetize the network and systems provide and support customer experience systems for Xohm, investments they must make in order to profitably provide Sprint’s WiMAX (worldwide interoperability microwave access) digital goods and services; remain a viable, primary player in initiative. These are long-term issues for service providers, which the Amdocs CES Portfolio was designed to address and we will continue to fund research and development to solve. RESILIENCE IN FY09, WE SEEK TO DEMONSTRATE THAT, WITH OUR END-TO-END APPLICATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY, AND MORE THAN 25 YEArs’ FOCUSED INDUSTRY EXPERTISE, AMDOCS DELIVERS VALUE THAT OUR COMPETITORS CANNOT MATCH. Amdocs | 2008 Annual Report 11 STABILITY IN AN UNCERTAIN ENVIRONMENT It is almost certain that the world’s financial woes will affect service providers, potentially weakening their appetite for large-scale systems transformations. But challenging economic conditions could also create a more critical need for our customers to consolidate operations to achieve cost efficiencies, engage with a trusted partner to manage their applications, or modernize or scale their systems.
