Sandra Doling

Sandra Doling Sandra Doling was originally trained by her mother, Denise Doling. When she was a toddler she always insisted on joining in the classes instead of sitting in her pram; and, at eighteen months old she did her first performance at a local church fete as she again refused to watch. Her training then took her to Elmhurst Ballet School and it was here she did her first professional performance – dancing on the radio.... Sandra was cast in a BBC Radio 4 Play for Today which apart from speaking, she was needed to dance specific repertoire from Sleeping Beauty to give realism to the play. Sandra then studied at The Royal Ballet School on The Teacher’s Training Course. During this period she was chosen to perform Escuela Bolera – 19th century Classical Spanish Dance which is basically ballet performed with castanets. She performed as a Classical Spanish soloist with a number of companies touring throughout Great Britain at theatres such as The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican Concert Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall etc. This then led to her becoming a Flamenco dancer performing throughout Europe including being flown to Spain to perform. Sandra has mainly taught at Vocational Schools including The Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, The London Studio Centre, Laine Theatre Arts and Mountview. Sandra has run her own schools and often guest teaches at schools around the country and abroad. She is currently teaching at The Arts Educational School, Chiswick and at The Royal Academy of Dance. Royal Academy of Dance® is a charity registered in England and Wales No. 312826 .
