Traces of listeria monocytogenes in a number of the Company's products Dear resident/citizen, Eyal Sheli Food and Catering Services Ltd. Announces that following self-tests run by the Company, traces of listeria monocytogenes bacteria were found in the following meals (products), 1-3: 1. Shawarma, quinoa, and beans, labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 2. Potato, carrot, and chicken labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 3. Shawarma, bulgur, and beans labeled "Kosher" under the hechsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. These meals were provided during Passover and until 21.04.2020, in the context of provisions to local authorities in the following Northern District localities: Iksal, Buq'ata, Beit Shean, Bu'eine Nujeidat, Bik' at HaYarden, Golan, Gush Halav, Gilboa, Upper Galilee, Lower Galilee, Daburiyya, Hatzor Haglilit, Tiv'on, Yokne' am, Kfar Vradim, Kfar Kama, Kafr Manda, Kfar Tavor, Mevo'ot Hermon, Majdal Shams, Metula, Menashe, Mas'ade, Misgav, Ghajar, Ein Qiniyye, Emek HaYarden, Emek HaMa'ayanot, Emek Izrael, Afula, Katzrin, Kiryat Shmona, Rosh Pina, Ramat Yishai, Shibli Umm al-Ghanem. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that may cause illness to high risk populations such as people with immunosuppression and the elderly or induce miscarriage in pregnant women. The Company urges its customers to verify if the products above, as well as the products below, are found in their refrigerators and freezers and if so, to dispose of them and not consume them. This precaution is despite the fact that these products are intended for reheating before consumption as detailed in the preparation instructions, and heating destroys the bacterium. Furthermore, most of these products were already consumed. 4. Maftoul, beans, and chicken labeled "Kosher" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 5. Pasta, carrot, and hamburger labeled "Kosher" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 6. Potato, assorted vegetables and mini schnitzels labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 7. Quinoa, green beans, and beef strips labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 8. Rice, peas, and meatballs in gravy labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 9. Rice, peas, and chicken labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 10. Quinoa, beans, and mini schnitzels labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula. 11. Yellow rice, antipasti vegetables, and shawarma labeled "Kosher for eaters of legumes in Passover" under the hekhsher of the Rabbinate of Afula.
