ASIA-PACIFIC CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION FORUM 2014, 1 – 3 OCTOBER 2014 PWTC Transportation between Airports and Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) 1. KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA) Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is the main aviation hub in Malaysia. It is located in Sepang district, in the southern part of the state of Selangor bordering Negeri Sembilan, approximately 50 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Most international flights arrive at Terminal C which is located at the Satellite Building of KLIA. An aerotrain provides a complimentary shuttle service for passengers between the Main Terminal Building and the Satellite Building every 3 – 5 minutes. The aerotrain takes just about 2 minutes to travel into a tunnel that runs underneath an airport taxiway and into the Satellite Building. Please note that travel duration may vary depending on intermediated stop and traffic conditions. Option 1: Airport Taxi / Limo Upon arrival at the KLIA, the authorised airport taxi counters can be found at the Arrival Hall, Main Terminal Building after Customs, before the public arrival waiting area. If you disembark at the Satellite Building or the Terminal C, please take the aerotrain to reach the Main Terminal Building. The airport taxi service is operated by Airport Limo (M) Sdn. Bhd. Taxi fares are charged according to destination and the type of taxi or limo required. There are 4 types of airport taxi available to choose from: Type of Taxi / Limo Capacity (depending on the car model) Budget Taxi 3 – 4 passengers only Premier Limo 4 to 5 passengers only Super Luxury 3 passengers only Family Service 8 passengers only Source: www.klia.com.my Please tell the person in charge your destination (e.g. PWCT). You will then be quoted the corresponding taxi fare. Upon paying the fare, a coupon and receipt will be issued and you should then proceed to the dedicated pick-up point or taxi-stand which is usually located at Door 3 on the same level. No further charges need be paid to the taxi driver. Airport Limo (M) Sdn. Bhd. also offers “Meet and Greet” service at KLIA. Participants who wish to take the train service may refer to the suggested train connection below. KL Sentral Station will be the 1st transportation hub after leaving KLIA. Option A: By KTM Komuter Express train KTM Komuter KLIA KL Sentral PWTC 1. An express train service is available from KLIA to KL Sentral. The train is known as KL Ekspres or ERL and it is located within the Main Terminal Building of KLIA. 2. Take the non-stop express train to KL Sentral. It takes about 28 minutes. 3. Upon arrival at KL Sentral, please proceed to the KTM Komuter ticketing and information counter which is located at Level 1, the Transit Concourse. 4. Please purchase the train ticket at the dedicated ticket counter. Alternatively you can choose to use the vending machine. The nearest station to PWTC is Putra Station. 5. You should take the train that heading to Batu Caves or Rawang. It takes approximately 11 minutes. 6. The Putra Station is the 3rd station from KL Sentral. PWTC is located within the walking distance from the Putra Station. Option B: By MyRapid Express RapidKL RapidKL KLIA train KL Kelana Jaya Line Masjid Ampang Line PWTC Sentral Jamek 1. An express train service is available from KLIA to KL Sentral. It is known as KL Ekspres or ERL and it is located within the Main Terminal Building of KLIA. 2. Take the non-stop express train to KL Sentral. It takes about 28 minutes. 3. Upon arrival at KL Sentral, please proceed to the RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line information counter which is located at Level 1, the Transit Concourse. 4. Please purchase the ticket at the vending machine. The nearest station to PWTC, the forum venue is PWTC Station. 5. You should take the train that heading to Gombak and change to Ampang Line at Masjid Jamek Integrated Station. 6. From the Masjid Jamek Integrated Station, take the train that heading to Sentul Timur. 7. The PWTC Station is the 3rd station from Masjid Jamek. PWTC is located within the walking distance from the PWTC Station. Note: The train services provided by KTM Komuter and RapidKL to PWTC stop at different stations. In either case, these stations are within walking distance to PWTC. KLIA 2 KLIA 2 is a newly constructed airport that takes over the Malaysia Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). It operation starts in May 2014 and more information about it will be announced shortly. 3. KL Sentral Station KL Sentral Station is a transportation hub that integrates rail transportation in Kuala Lumpur. A total of 6 rail networks are available. They are KLIA Express Rail Link, KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity Trains, Electric Train Service, RapidKL Rail and KL Monorail. Within the station, there are variety of retail and commercial shops and offices, such as convenient stores, pharmacies, bank, money changers, telecommunications, and ticketing counters (airlines/buses/trains). Public Train and Light Rail Systems in the Centre of Kuala Lumpur I. KLIA Express Train (ERL) The Express Rail Link Sdn. Bhd. offers express train that connect KLIA to KL Sentral. The express train is also known as ERL and is available in 2 categories which are the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit. KLIA Ekspres It offers a non-stop high-speed airport transfer between KLIA and KL Sentral in 28 minutes. Participants are recommended to take the KLIA Ekspres. KTM Komuter KTM Komuter is the 1st electric train in Malaysia which connects Kuala Lumpur City Centre to the surrounding sub-urban areas. It offers two main routes which are the Tanjung Malim – Sungai Gadut and Batu Caves – Pelabuhan Klang. Stations such as Bank Negara, Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral and Bandar Tasik Selatan offer connection with other rail systems, i.e. MyRapid and KLIA Ekspres or ERL. Besides, it passes the Mid Valley Station where the Mid Valley Megamall is located within walking distance.
