University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Volume 18 | Issue 5 PITT CAPSULE APhA-ASP: American Pharmacists KID-A-PALOOZA WAS Association Academy of Student A SUCCESS! Pharmacists Olivia Berger (P3), Social Vice President APhA-ASP had a very successful month of February! Our main event of the month was Kid-a-Palooza, which was both fun and successful! Eight student organizations attended, and together we saw 3,500 kids and their families. We were also able to reach over 3 million people through media relations. All of the organizations did a great job educating the kids on OTC Med Safety, and we are looking forward to more events like this in the future. As the semester starts to come to a close, we would like to remind students of some of our upcoming events: Ø The last GBM of the semester is April 4th at lunch in 456. We will be doing end of the year student and faculty awards, so come show some support! Ø The Spring Leadership Retreat will be held on Monday, April 9th from 5:30-8:00 pm in 402. There will be food! We hope to see you at all of our remaining events this semester. PLS: Phi Lambda Sigma Sarah Hunt (P3), Secretary We are excited to announce that we have accepted 15 new members into the Beta Delta chapter! The official induction ceremony for new members will be held on March 27th. The first PLS Professional Development Workshop of the semester - Leadership and Cultural Diversity - was held on March 1st with a representative from Pitt’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion. There will be another Professional Development Workshop on March 22nd at 5:00 pm, led by Dr. Meyer, where she will discuss ways to run an effective meeting.
