Tour is a yearly tour that crosses the country with some of the hottest bands in rock. In the past, the tour has featured bands like Thursday and Jimmy Eat World, and this year is being headlined by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Yet the best part of this tour is that it raises money and awareness for charity. Sponsored by Hot Topic, MTVU and Etnies among others, this tour advocates recognition of youth depression and suicide, and pushes for action to be taken in order to prevent suicide, and to help those with depression. The Take Action! Tour works closely with the National Hopeline Network. The National Hopeline Network was started on August 16, 1998 by Reese Butler, whose wife committed suicide after suffering from postpartum depression. Operated 24 hours a day, 1-800- SUICIDE (784-2433) is a hotline that connects callers to a certified crisis center near them within 30 seconds.
