Giacomo PRESTIA Bass Giacomo Prestia is born in Florence, he studied vocal technique with Maestro Sergio Catoni and won several international competitions including the “Concorso internazionale Voci Verdiane” in Busseto and the “Concorso Luciano Pavarotti” in Philadelphia. He made his opera debut with Verdi's "Alzira" in Fidenza in 1991, after which he embarked upon an intense and brilliant career that saw him performing in the major opera houses of the world, among them: Teatro alla Scala , Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Florence , Opéra National de Paris , Staatsoper Vienna , Opera Zurich , Teatro Real de Madrid , Liceu de Barcelona , Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper Berlin , Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires , Teatro Comunale in Bologna , San Carlo in Naples , Teatro Regio di Parma . Mr. Prestia has also worked with prominent conductors such as Claudio Abbado , Myung - Whun Chung , Antonio Pappano , Zubin Mehta , Riccardo Muti , George Prêtre , Daniele Gatti , Nello Santi , Bruno Campanella , Maurizio Benini , Michele Mariotti . Among his last engagements: “Vespri Siciliani” in Parma , “Macbeth” in Bilbao and Montecarlo , “Aida” in Florence , at Scala Milano and Arena di Verona , “Norma” in Bari and Turin , “Lucia di Lammermoor” and “Masnadieri” in Naples, “Don Carlos” in Vienna , Modena , Turin and Piacenza , “Forza del destino” in Sydney , “Simone Boccanegra” in Budapest , Parma and Turin , “Les Troyens” at Scala Milano with conductor Antonio Pappano and stage director David McVicar , “Simone Boccanegra” in Venice with Myung- Whun Chung . Recent and future contracts until 2021/22 include Banquo in Lisbon , Filippo II in Vienna , Ramfis in Rome , Filippo in Melbourne , Commendatore in Monte Carlo , Ramfis in Turin , "Bassariden" in Rome , Raimondo in Muscat , Orovese in Naples , Mefistofele in Pisa , Rovigo and Lucca , Fiesco in Las Palmas and Sydney , Filippo at the Aids Gala in Düsseldorf , Ramfis in Macerata and Brussels , Filippo in Berlin and "Aida" at Gstaad Festival, Sparafucile, Timur and Jacopo Lorendani in “Due Foscari” in Parma , Alvise in "Gioconda" in Piacenza , Modena and Reggio Emilia , Banquo in Liège , Fiesco in Tel Aviv , Commen- datore in New Zealand , Timur in Parma and Banquo in Antibes . .
