Introduction The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the key statistics of the 2011 Census for Surrey Heath. It gives a general picture of Surrey’s population and detailed information for Surrey Heath and its wards, in separate ward profiles in pdf format. The information has been extracted from Surrey-i, www.surreyi.gov.uk and LG Inform Surrey’s information hub for statistical information. The figures presented in this report are the estimated total population based on the actual census count and data from the Census Coverage Survey. The overall response rate for Surrey was 95%. The Office for National Statistics has undertaken a rigorous quality assurance process on these estimates using a range of administrative data to validate them. Basic facts about Surrey Heath In terms of area, Surrey Heath is ranked 7 out of the 11 Districts within the Surrey County, and is ranked 39 out of all 55 Districts in South East. The total area of Surrey Heath District is 9,509 hectares. The Ward with the largest area is Chobham, representing 24.32% of the total area of the District. The most densely populated Ward is Heatherside with 34.20 persons per hectare, the least densely populated Ward is Chobham with 1.60 persons per hectare. Page | 3 3. Mytchett and Deepcut is the Ward with the highest number of households (867) with dependent children in the District and Chobham is the Ward with the lowest number of households with dependent children.
