Sam Johnstone is the tracker who escaped from the Kenniffs. When Jim Kenniff was released he travelled out to Barcaldine; Sam was on his way to the butcher shop when he saw him. Same did not stand upon the order of this going, but jumped the 5 foot gate at the barracks, and it was impossible to get him out until Kenniff left the town.
