DREW Wartenburg spent the 2007-08 season as an assistant coach for Oregon State’s women’s track and field and cross country teams. In only their third WARTENBURG year since reinstating the programs for the 2004-05 season, the Beavers Head Coach finished 13th at the NCAA West Regional during the cross country season 4th Year and qualified their lone track and field athlete for the regional meet in Wesleyan University ‘92 the steeplechase - an event Wartenburg helped coach. Additionally, he mentored two Pac-10 Conference finalists in the 1,500 and the sixth-place finisher at the 2008 USATF Junior Nationals in that event. Wartenburg graduated from Wesleyan University, a liberal arts college in Middlestown, Conn. in 1992, where he lettered in soccer. Drew Wartenburg continues to reach new heights within Division I competition, taking strides to turn UC Davis cross country into one of the premiere programs on the West Coast. KIM Wartenburg followed the 2009 season with even more program firsts in 2010, starting with UC Davis’ first-ever Div. I cross country CONLEY All-American in Jonathan Peterson. The 2010 season also saw the Aggie Assistant Coach men win their first team title at the Big West Conference Championship, 2nd Year with Peterson claiming the individual title. For his successes, Wartenburg UC Davis ’09 was honored as the league’s Men’s Coach of the Year while Peterson was voted Male Athlete of the Year. In September 2011, he was appointed Director of Track and Field and Cross Country.
