Cadarette, age 78, resident of Lehigh Acres since 1988, formerly of Davison, Michigan passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at S.W. Regional Medical Center, Ft. Myers, FL. Donald was born April 8, 1923 in Saginaw, MI to the late Donia and Mabel (Beatty) Cadarette. He proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy. During his career Donald was a sales representative with B.F. Goodrich Shoe Division; Executive Vice President of the Builders Association of Metropolitan Flint, MI; Executive Vice President of the Flint Area Association of REALTORS; and in 1988 retired as Director of Marketing for the Guaranty Title Company of Flint, MI. After moving to Lehigh Acres in 1988, Donald soon went to work for the Admiral Lehigh Resort as a Ranger and Starter at the golf course. He was also a member of Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge #2602. He was preceded in death by a sister Mildred. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Patricia (Miller) Cadarette; two daughters and a son-in-law: Pamela and David Cereska, Swartz Creek, MI; and Deborah Cadarette, Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren: Kristin, Ashley, and Kelsey. Rex and 'Peewee', as she was affectionately known by all, were married Sept. 4, 1950. Shortly after, they moved to Miami, FL, to raise their family, and later retired to Lake Placid, FL. Rex proudly served in the US Navy in WWII. He retired from a long career with Florida Power & Light Co. in Miami. He was an avid fisherman, and was once mentioned in an article in the Miami Herald, as the best Snook fisherman in the So. Florida area. He took his family fishing and camping every weekend. Many memories and life lessons were generated during these trips. Peewee was a 'kick-butt, ask questions later, kind of gal, devoted to her family, a loving wife and mother. She was an avid reader and seamstress. Her cooking and baking will be remembered and missed by all. They were preceded in death by their eldest son, Larry Blake Caddell on Feb. 26, 1977. Left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are their children, Rex Alan (Georgette) Caddell, Chris (Jeff) Dryden, and Robin (Buddy) Moore; grandchildren, Jessica, David, Amanda, Courtney, Charlotte, Trey, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Adam, Eva, Ruby and River; as well as many other loved family members. A memorial service will be Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Survivors include his father, Alstead P., a brother, Alstead H., and a sister, Dawn Swain, all of Sarasota. Glenn was born October 25, 1953 in Providence, RI, and moved to Sarasota in 1979 from Hartford, CT, with his beloved late brother, William Powell. Glenn was a direct descendant of an American Revolutionary War patriot, served aboard the USS Decatur during the Vietnam War, held a bachelor's degree in education, and was a Certified Nursing Assistant. He is also survived by brother- in-law Mark Swain. Interred in Section 12, Site 291 in the Sarasota National Cemetery. He was born Feb. 20, 1936 in New York and is survived by his son, Michael P. Cahill; daughters, Ruth M. Cahill and Kathy Cahill Featherman (Butch); four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Abe served 24 years in the U.S. Navy and was a dedicated member of the U.S. Sail and Power Squadron for more than 30 years in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death in 2007 by his spouse of 49 years, Gladys Armstrong Cahill. A funeral service will be at Oakleaf Christian Fellowship, 6200-2 Lake Gray Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
