SUBJECT INDEX TO ARTICLES IN THE NEW YORK GENEALOGICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD 1983-2013 (VOLUMES 114-144) compiled by Harry Macy, Jr., FASG, FGBS, Editor 1987–2006 The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society New York 2014 Copyright 2014, The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society. All Rights Reserved. Published by The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society 36 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036-8105 USA www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org This index is intended as a continuation of Mrs. Jean D. Worden’s The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record 113 Years Master Index 1870-1982, published in 1983. While now out of print, Mrs. Worden’s index is widely available in libraries. The present index consists of three parts: 1) Compiled genealogies and family records, indexed by principal surnames; 2) Source records and collective genealogies, indexed by location; and 3) Other articles, indexed by subject. The abbreviation A/C refers to Additions and Corrections to prior articles, published in each October issue. To determine the date of a volume, add 1869 to the volume number; for example, the first citation in the index is to 121:230-234. The date of volume 121 is 1869+121 or 1990. To determine the issue in which pages were published, use the following table: Volume (Year) January (no. 1) April (no. 2) July (no. 3) October (no. 4) 114-118 (1983-1987) (pages) 1-64 65-128 129-192 193-256 119 (1988) 1-64 65-128 129-192 193-272 120-126 (1989-1994) 1-64 65-128 129-192 193-256 127 (1995) 1-96 97-160 161-224 225-288 127-128 (1996-1997) 1-64 65-128 129-192 193-256 129 (1998) 1-64 65-144 145-224 225-304 130-144 (1999-2013) 1-80 81-160 161-240 241-320 Part I: Compiled Genealogies and Family Records, Indexed by PRINCIPAL SURNAMES ACKER see ECKER AERTSE Hoff, Henry B., “Dirck Weygerts and His Descendants: Van Deursen, Aertse, Quick and Bodine” 121:230-234 ALBERTSON Hoff, Henry B., A/C to “The Albertson Family of Oyster Bay” (1978), 130:261 ALLAIRE Hill, Glenna See, “Allaire Family of La Rochelle, France and Westchester County” 125:137-144, 219-224; 126:55-59, 127-132, 199-201, 253-260; A/C 126:248-249, 127:217-18 ALLICOCKE Fay, Mary Smith, “Joseph Allicocke-A Son of Liberty Turns Tory” 115:228-235 Fay, Mary Smith, “Joseph Allicocke’s Children” 121:32-33 ALLING Barth, Barbara A., “Abraham Alling, Blacksmith of Marblehead, Massachusetts, and Oyster Bay” 129:76-80, 183-88; A/C [by Philip Mason] 129:261, 130:267 AMACK Hatcher, Patricia Law, “The Amack/Aumack Family of New York and New Jersey” 141:93-108 ANTHONY see PORTUGIES ARCULARIUS Steele, Edward E., “The Arcularius Family of New York City” 139:109-122 AREY see VAN GUINEE ARMSTRONG Hoff, Henry B., “Conway Armstrong Confesses” 133:54 Truslow, Edward W., “Family Record: Armstrong” 123:74-74 ARNOLD Hoff, Henry B., “Arnold Family of Lowestoft, Suffolk, England; Amsterdam; and Southold, Long Island” 125:88-93; A/C 125:218 ARNOUX see ARMSTRONG at 133:54 AUFERMANN Goodwin, Aaron, “The Prussian Origins of William Aufermann of Manhattan and New Jersey” 141:190-199 AUMACK see AMACK BADIE Macy, Harry Jr., “Some New Light on Aeltje Braconie and Maria Badie,” 142:21-36 BAGROUGH Luedemann, Judith Miner Hine, “Hyman Jacob Bagrough and His First Wife, Jane Dutcher” 122:75-83; A/C 122:235-236 BAILEY see also SETON [Bailey, Chris H.], “Nathaniel Bailey Family Record, Greenport, Long Island” 139:146 Melnick, Michael A., “Family Record: Bailey” 123:9-10 BAKER Hart, Frederick C.
