Ajit K., Overburden characteristics in the Alfred-Hawkesbury area, Ontario, obtained by d.c. electrical soundings; m Current Research. Part C. Geological Survey of Canada. Paper 80-1C. p. 1-12, 1980. Abstract A direct current Schlumberger resistivity survey was carried out in an area around Alfred. Ontario. A total of 62 electrical soundings were made in the area with maximum current electrode separation of 1200 m. The station spacings were variable but averaged about l.S km from each other. The geology of the area is not complex, the surface layers being composed of a number of quasi-parallel beds of varying resistivity and thickness. Because of the presence of an extremely conductive clay layer (Champlain clay beds) in much of the area,
