Rude , first for the financial crisis we had to face. We search hard to resolve it but do not know yet how to do it. There is no solution-miracle. But everyone is invited to reflect on the possible measures to face it and find remedy. The main source of income for our programs was the sponsorships for the children of the home and of our schools. So let us first reflect on the meaning of partnership and the responsibility it involves from both side of the partnership. HSP has to think that we cannot receive funds collected with hardship by our cooperators without searching how to correspond in the best manner to the expectation of our partners. A donation is a responsibility. We have not only to serve the children entrusted to our care with a constant renewed concern for the betterment of this service. But we have also the responsibility to see whether there is not in our hands some possibility first to cut expenses, not at the detriment of the children, of course. We had to check up the expenses of our schools, attract some local donors who can give copy books, uniforms and even some food for our homes. We have also to examine how we can raise funds through our workshop s. Big girls of our homes are happy for instance to make jewelry, and we are renovating our workshops to make them more efficiently productive. We try to get good orders, for example for our workshop making woollen cardigans, Some homes have a vegetable garden where they can grow good vegetables and reduce the price of their food expenses. Our Partners, for whom we are so grateful, know well that the daily bread of our children, their education as well as the modest salary of their educators depend on their sacrifice. Indeed the sacrifice they make with their generous heart is their voluntary service for redressing a society who forgets so quickly the children they want to rehabilitate with us. We had to inform our partners of the inflation which has affected seriously the balance of our monthly budget Some of you are sending money according the budget we have calculated for one home, or for a certain amount of children. It is a great relief «if the money is coming regularly. If not, we had to take from our reserves, and now we have no more reserves « So may I request you to send as regularly as possible your participation for the children (yours and ours) Some of you are sending a certain amount of money for individual child: for that, we are also very grateful. But we must tell you that the amount you were sending 5 or 6 years ago is now, with the inflation of these years, very insufficient to cover all expenses (study + boarding expenses). Today, in average, the recurring expenses for one child amounts to 45 Euros or 62 Swiss francs per month. We know that some of you make a big sacrifice in sending their monthly contribution and we are very grateful for this. But can we make a double appeal. For those who can afford to give monthly a little more, perhaps to revise the amount of their contribution. For those who make the maximum sacrifice in sending what they are already sending, can we appeal to them to try to find one or two more sponsors? We need more sponsors in any case, because each and all of our children are to be all sponsored. But we have also some lands around our homes that are not exploited and could/ should be exploited without hampering in any way the activities of the homes on which they are situated nearby. At Howrah (Ashaneer) and Jalpaiguri ( ³Bakuabari ´ and ³Das Bighas ´ lands) we have to study how we could make these lands ³income generating ´ productive. Without any imprudent haste, but without wasting time, we have to find some competent people who can help us to exploit for the best these lands in such developing localities. We are searching some honest, competent people knowing well the trends of the local market and proposing some plans to exploit safely these lands. But it is a matter of 2 or 3 years before we can expect a source of income sufficient to run our organization with a safety margin. And during these 3 years, we have not only to run our homes and activities, but also erect some buildings in which these income generating projects will take place. The 3 coming years are crucial. We hope, with a lot of mobilization of our friends and our own mobilization to be able to pass through the present crisis The joy of our children in our homes and the good fruits of our other activities are encouraging us, but we need your maximum support, especially during these 3 years. We have some response very encouraging, and many try their best to save the present situation. We promise to let you progressively be informed of the progress of our efforts to face this difficult passage. In the same time, we shall receive with gratitude any help, suggestion for overcoming the crisis. HSP is the concern of each of us, is it not? We need also God ¶s blessings for which we rely on your payers. With the effort of each, we shall get surely God ¶s blessing and we have confidence that this general mobilization will be fecund and a source of renewal for HSP, Father Francis Laborde Click Here & Upgrade 4 | AnnualExpanded Report_2015-16 Features PDF Unlimited Pages CompleteDocuments CONTENTS SL.
