Daniel is a Chartered Town planner with ten years’ experience within private practice as a plan- ning consultant. Daniel has managed a broad and varied range of clients initially building up a specialism within energy and infrastructure. This was established through working for a wind developer, but also through working at an engineering firm working alongside the Highways Agency to comment strategically on local plans, and the Environment Agency on gaining planning consent on flood defence schemes. Since joining PWA Planning in November 2014, Daniel has built upon this specialism into other built de- velopment sectors. Planning input of the role covers all stages of planning work; from the preparation and submission of fee proposals and initial appraisals, to the preparation and submission of applications and planning appeals on a range of residential and mixed use developments. This has incorporated utilising a range of skills and experience established from his career to date through writing and coordinating EIAs, along with producing and managing the planning submission. I am the Principal Heritage Consultant of our Cirencester office. KEY EXPERIENCE My role as a Principal Heritage Consultant means that I am responsible for the management of heritage projects on behalf of Cotswold Archaeology. I have extensive experience in providing advice to clients on heritage issues, the formulation of strategies for managing the heritage resource (both within and outside of the EIA process) and delivering supporting documentation for planning applications and other objectives. I have wide experience in acting as expert witness at Public Inquiry, and in providing supporting documents and rebuttals for written representations and hearings. I have a particular expertise in issues pertaining to the historic landscape, including the development of fieldscapes and settlement patterns, as well as historic buildings and Conservation Areas. My role requires close liaison with statutory heritage consultees such as county archaeologists, conservation officers and Historic England and Cadw. Recent projects have included: Gloucester Quayside and Blackfriars Local Development Order. I managed the Historic Environment Study in support of the recently permitted LDO for regeneration of the Gloucester Quayside area Redcliffe Quarter, Bristol. I managed the built heritage surveys for the recently permitted Redcliffe Quarter redevelopment (including a new 19-storey building), centred in Bristol’s Redcliffe Conservation Area Examination in Public, Taunton and Deane Core Strategy. I provided heritage information to the Inspector during the preliminary hearing into policies for housing allocation in December 2015 Mynydd Brombil, Neath Port Talbot: I was Expert Witness for heritage for the Public Inquiry held in May 2015 for four wind turbines. Key issues were the setting of Scheduled Monuments, a Registered Park and a Registered Historic Landscape 1 Land at Chipping Norton, West Oxfordshire and land at Barford, Warwickshire. I appeared as Expert Witness for two Public Inquiries in September-October 2014. Both were concerned with effects upon listed buildings and Conservation Areas Gresty Oaks, Crewe, Cheshire. I was Expert Witness for heritage in the Public Inquiry in July 2014, preparing Proof of Evidence and giving evidence at Inquiry. Key elements pertained to the Hedgerows Regulations and the historic landscape Gloucester Bus Station redevelopment.
