Only three of the Top 16 seeds have advanced to the quarters: No. 2 Gilles Simon, No. 4 Leonardo Mayer and No. 12 Sam Querrey. In the opening match on Centre Court, former World No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis takes on Italian Simone Bolelli, who won the previous two meetings at Roland Garros in 2008 and ATP Masters 1000 Miami in March. In the next match on, Mayer and Denis Istomin square off for the third time (tied 1-1), the first time on grass. In the next match on, Querrey and 2013 finalist Simon meet for the sixth time, first on grass. Simon leads the head-to-head meetings 4-1. In the final match on, Alexandr Dolgopolov brings a 3-0 head-to-head advantage against Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei. They battled on grass in their first meeting in Eastbourne in 2010 and the Ukrainian won in three sets.
