N~rr•cEs AMS BUSINESS-NOT AS USUAL AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY One of the major tasks that will face the next AMS executive director is insuring that the financial foundation of the Society remains sound during times of rapid and uncertain change. This is the business side of the Society, and it is anything but business EDITORIAL COMMITTEE as usual. Sheldon Axler The current annual operating budget of the AMS is over $21 million.
