JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Pitchside and Evening Therapist REPORTS TO: Director of Rugby and Committee LOCATION: Old Redcliffians RFC START DATE: June 2021 Old Redcliffians RFC are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified therapist on a sessional part time basis. The primary aim of this role is to provide medical management for the Senior Squad. Playing in the fifth tier of English Rugby (South West Premier), Old Reds are one of the most well-established clubs in the Bristol area. The therapist will be expected to be present at training Tuesday and Thursday (17:30 – 20:30) and both home and away matchdays on a Saturday (times vary) throughout the season July – May. Please apply by sending a cover letter and a CV to Director of Rugby Craig Owen at [email protected] Key Responsibilities (Include but are not exclusive to) • Leading the medical provision for the Senior Squads by assisting in accurate assessment, rehabilitation and treatment for all players • Planning and implementing injury prevention and recovery for all squads • Providing pitch-side cover and assistance for both training and matches • Undertaking pre-season medical screening for all senior players • Communicate effectively to senior management (coaches, director of rugby etc) • Provide placement opportunities to students to support relationship with local university • Maintaining accurate and up to date notes, in-line with the RFU Minimum standards • Managing medical budget for supplies throughout the season • Liaising with doctors/consultants where necessary to support players management • Referring to relevant medical professionals to support players management (e.g. GP or MRI referrals) Essential • Degree in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation • Membership with CSP & HCPC/Society of Sports Therapists/BASRAT • Experience of Taping and Strapping • Experience of working in Rugby Union • RFU PHICIS qualification or the ability to work towards • A full and valid UK driving licence with own transport Key Relationships • Club Treasurer Dave Creber • Director of Rugby: Craig Owen • Head Coach: Dan Cox • Assistant Coaches for all 3 senior sides • Players Provided by the Club • Club kit package (items TBC) • Medical Equipment • Remuneration package to be discussed at interview. .
