The Golden Knights will need to replace its top two scorers from last season in Cayley Mercer and Genevieve Bannon. Jan. 2 Mercyhurst 6:07 p.m. Mercer tied for the nation lead with 62 points (28g-34a) last season while Bannon followed with 53 points (15g-38a). Gabel Jan. 3 Mercyhurst 1:07 p.m. has taken a leap forward to replace Mercer leading the team with three points (2g-1a) after tallying 42 points (22g-20a) in Jan. 12 at Minnesota Duluth * 7:07 p.m. 2016-17. Freshman Elizabeth Giguere looks to be another key forward for the Golden Knights, posting two points (1g-1a) at Jan. 13 at Minnesota Duluth * 4:07 p.m. Northestern. Senior Savannah Harmon is the Golden Knights top returning defenseman after posting 36 points (11g-25a) in 2016-17 and scored a goal at Northeastern. Jan. 19 Wisconsin * 7:07 p.m. The Golden Knights return one of the top goaltenders in Division I in senior Shea Tiley. Tiley led the nation in minutes Jan. 20 Wisconsin * 3:07 p.m. played last season (2487:37), finished seventh in goals against average (1.58) and save percentage (.931) and posted a 28- Feb. 2 at Minnesota State * 2:07 p.m. 4-5 record. Tiley started both games at Northeastern last weekend allowing two goals for a 0.96 GAA and made 55 saves for Feb. 3 at Minnesota State * 2:07 p.m. a .965 save percentage. Feb. 9 St. Cloud State * 7:07 p.m. Feb. 10 St. Cloud State * 3:07 p.m. BEMIDJI STATE NOTES Feb. 16 at Ohio State * 5:07 p.m. • The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team returns to action this weekend after going 1-0-1 against Syracuse Feb. 17 at Ohio State * 2:07 p.m. University the previous weekend to open the 2017-18 season. Feb. 23-25 WCHA Playoffs First Round TBA • The Beavers and Orange started the series with a 0-0 tie in overtime in the first game of the series. Senior goaltender Mar. 3-4 WCHA Final Faceoff TBA Erin Deters was spectacular in net in her first start as a senior posting a 33-save shutout for the scoreless tie. Mar. 9 NCAA Regionals TBA • The Beavers then responded by posting five goals against the Orange in a 5-0 win for their first win of the season, Sept. 30. Five different Beavers scored in the game including Emma Terres who led the Beavers with a goal and assist. Mar. 16 NCAA Frozen Four TBA • Redshirt Freshman Lauren Bench earned her first career start wearing the green and white for BSU and posted a 26- save shutout to earn her first collegiate win. *Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest • Terres, Bailey Wright, Lindsey Featherstone, Haley Mack and Jacqueline Kaasa all scored for the Beavers in the game # U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game (Cambridge, Minn.) including Featherstone who tallied her first career goal off of her first career shot. ( ) USAToday/USA Hockey Magazine ranking • In total, 13 different Beavers recorded a point in the game out of 18 skaters in the lineup. All times Central • Senior defender Alexis Joyce tallied an assist during the game bringing her career points total to 59 and just two shy of Ivana Bilic for second on the program’s all-time scoring list for defensemen. 2017-18 WCHA STANDINGS • Despite the offensive production in game two, the Beavers will need to work on their power-play unit going 0-for-9 in the series against the Orange including 0-for-5 in game one. Overall WCHA • The Beavers are one of two teams in the nation to earn back-to-back shutouts on opening weekend (Minnesota Duluth).
