All the ladies teams take on a very strong Palm Beach outfit and we hope we can continue with the run the girls are on. Meanwhile, the U18’s and Senior Men take on Moreton Bay Jets which will be a very tough afternoon for both teams. Sunshine Coast FC players have continued to be invited to representative teams. In addition to the five U13 boys that are still in contention for state nationals selection, U14s have had seven boys selected to trial for a position with the State U14s squad. We now have seven U15s boys who are competing for a spot in the state NTC squad and one U15s player who is training with the state U15s squad. One Youth Women’s player is training with the Roar U15s team and three Senior ladies who have also been selected to train with the Senior Roar ladies team. We are delighted to announce that our U16s boys Goalkeeper has been selected to attend the Joeys U17 world cup squad for a training camp in Canberra and most recently our U18’s Goalkeeper was selected to train with the New Zealand U17’s world cup squad. We would like to congratulate all of these players and we wish them well in securing positions within their respective representative teams. We are also pleased to announce that our trial dates are now up on the website for the 2016 season, and our Elite Academy is now expanding to develop the next generation of talent off the Coast to continue our player development which is working extremely well as you can see from the evidence above. We are also taking registrations for our Squirts Program for kids 3 – 5 years of age which will commence again for Term 3 at Peregian Beach College and Kawana Sports Precinct on a Wednesday from 4.30pm and 4.45pm respectively. Come along and show your support to all teams and be a part of the Fire family. Melvyn Wilkes Technical Director of Coaching Sunshine Coast FC From the Senior Men’s Coach Today we welcome the league leaders Moreton Bay Jets to the Sunshine Coast Stadium after 4 tough away games which we have failed to pick up any points. I'm sure the boys will be looking forward to playing at home in which is likely to be a very open and attack minded game as Jets are very good in that department. I was very pleased with last weeks performance and effort from the players against FNQ in which we deserved at least at point if not all 3 but football can be cruel sometimes when you’re not having much luck. Things have gone against Melvyn and I, but we will keep working hard to turn things around keep supporting the boys and let's getting back to winning ways this weekend. Enjoy the game. Paul Arnison Senior Men’s Coach Sunshine Coast FC From the Under 14 Boys Coach Welcome football family and friends Today's fixture has the potential to be a great game. The Fire boys will be keen to produce and have always stepped up in front of the crowd and environment of the stadium in past years. With a rain affected week at training preparation hasn't been ideal however the boys have been playing well and on a nice, open, flat surface should provide the room to cause Redlands a lot of problems and make amends for missed opportunities last time the two sides met. However, we won't be complacent and are fully aware that we must prepare right week to week as teams push hard for results against us. Today will be no exemption and will hope for an entertaining display. Best of luck to both teams GO FIRE Matt Huston Under 14 Boys Coach Sunshine Coast FC From the Under 16 Boys Coach The U16's boys are set to play the first game of the season in the Stadium and welcome a tough opponent Redlands United. After a stem of good results for the 16s I'm expecting the form of run to continue going into today’s game. Although we came away with a good win away from home against this opponent, I'm expecting a tough game as they have a number of strong players and are a hard team to break down. The boys must turn up ready for action, and continue moving forward and improve on each performance. I would like to welcome Redlands and their supporters and hope for an entertaining game of football.
