Program Of a mystery ... Guide MONDAYS Anime Club: Are you a fan of anime? Come watch an episode or two of an awesome anime series. So far, we’ve watched Inuyasha: The Final Act and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Popcorn included! (June 3, 10, 17, 4:00 PM) Steampunk Party: We’ll watch the classic anime feature (2004, starring Anna Paquin) that helped launch the steampunk movement in America. Come dressed to party steampunk style and make your own jewelry! (June 24, 4:00 PM) TUESDAYS Rolling Video Games: RVG will drop by the library with PS3, Xbox, and Wii in tow for an hour of awesome. Play your favorite video games with friends for free on this expert-tended bus, complete with GIANT HD screens! (June 4, 4:00 PM) Wii Play: We love our Wii! Drop by the library for special Super Smash Bros. tournaments, Just Dance dance-offs, and the ultimate quest to save the princess in Super Mario Bros. Free food! (June 11, 25, 4:00 PM) Movie Night: Could you get to the bottom of a mystery if your life depended upon it? What about if you were distracted by a plane trying to run you down? Or a battle on Mt. Rushmore? Our hero does all this and more in one of Hitchcock’s favorite films, starring Cary Grant (the Robert Downey Jr. of 1959). Free popcorn! (June 11, 5:30 PM) Balloon Animal Making: Entertainer Mark Wood is on hand to teach you to make balloon sculptures fit to amaze friends, family, and everyone else you’d like to impress. (June 18, 4:00 PM) Animal Tales: Meet some of the most exotic animals that scurry, slither, and soar @ your library! Our guest wildlife expert will let you get up close and personal with some of the coolest animals on Earth. (June 25, 3:00 PM) THURSDAYS Writing a Mystery: Join YA novelist Selene Castrovilla (The Girl Next Door, Saved by the Music) to learn about the craft of writing from a published author via Skype. Be ready to ask questions! (June 6, 4:00 PM) Magic and Mentalism: Magician Jack Strauss will share his amazing magic show, and, as a special treat, teen PBCL at- tendees will receive an exclusive class in mentalism. Learn how to tell if your friends are lying to you! (June 13, 4:00 PM) Forensics: Behind the CSI Scenes: A forensics expert joins us to discuss the art of crime-solving with SCIENCE! (June 20, 4:00 PM) Clue Mystery Masquerade: You are cordially invited to attend a Mystery Masquerade by host Mr. Body. Wait, where’s Mr. Body?! Was it the lead pipe or the candlestick? I sure wish that we had been training teens to solve crimes … (June 27, 4:00 PM) FRIDAYS Tye-Dye Extravanganza: Bring your own T-shirt, bag, bandana, etc.! We will tye-dye ALL THE THINGS!!! (June 14, 4:00 PM) Whovian Party: Any fans of Doctor Who in the house? Come celebrate the renegade Time Lord with an episode marathon of Eleven (Matt Smith) and a task worthy of any assistant in the TARDIS: We’re going to build a DALEK! EX-TER-MIN-ATE! (June 21, 4:00 PM) SATURDAYS Caving Expedition: Experienced caver Mark Adler and Teen Services Librarian Beth Dunston are taking two small groups of teens exploring in a local cave setting. Experience the thrill of navigating and mapping a cave for yourself. Are you a born caver? Find out on this extra-special trip! Registration IS required and permission forms MUST be signed if you want to attend. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Permission forms will be available on Kickoff Day (June 1). (June 8, 22, 1:00 PM) Paris Cemetery Tour: Get in touch with the history (and the ghost stories!) of Bourbon County on this tour through the Paris Cemetery. A picnic lunch will be provided.
