AVI Discography by David Edwards, Mike Callahan & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan AVI Label Discography The AVI label was founded by Edward Cobb. AVI stands for American Variety International and was located in Los Angeles California. The label was not aimed at the popular market but was focused on club-oriented disco music. The team of Rinder and Lewis was the driving production force for the label with releases under various names. The British producer Ian Levine also released productions on the AVI label. With the demise of the popularity of disco AVI waned and the last releases of the original incarnation of the label were in 1985. In the 1990’s a new AVI appeared as AVI Entertainment and released CD’s licensed from other record companies.
