2nd All India Police Judo Cluster Championship Organised by Sashastra Seema Bal New Delhi 1 Judo Souvenir 2018.indd 1 19-04-2018 6:52:07 PM Curtain Raiser On 16th April, 2018 SSB as the host for 2nd All India Police Judo Cluster Championship conducted a curtain raiser at the Indira Gandhi (Indoor) Stadium in New Delhi. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Shri. Rajnikant Mishra, Director General SSB. The curtain raiser was conducted to create awareness about the championship that was going to start from 17th of April till 21st April, 2018. This curtain raiser was a success as it gave good publicity across the city with help of media/ press and the social media tools. The highlight of the day was the release of 2nd All India Police Judo Cluster Championship’s Logo and Mascot. The Logo, an aesthetical design by Ct. Ramesh Kunche of SSB, using olymics colors and interesting figurines that represent each sport of the cluster, viz Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo and Gymnastics was officially unveiled by the Chief Guest, while the background score by Angad Mishra was echoing in the Stadium. Following the unveiling of the Logo the Chief Guest also launched the Mascot of the Championship, DOJO, again designed by CT Ramesh Kunche. Dojo is synonymous to immersive learning and meditation. Traditionally, Dojo was a formal training place within the temples for the Japanese martial arts. With such a pious history, Dojo today reminds us to keep adhering to the principles of honesty, devotion and unshakeable concentration. Since these three attributes are the hallmark of the four games included in this cluster, DOJO was the most suitable name for our mascot. Dojo -The Tiger! Tiger is symbolic of the physical world. In the Martial Arts, students begin as Tigers. Being a tiger implies that one is at the beginning of their Martial Arts journey and has taken the first step towards dedication to practice. The Tiger's strength is physical superiority, swiftness and eagerness to fight. The Tiger represents aggression and action which makes it a ferocious fighter. Our young players participating in this championship relate to Dojo in all these attributes of character, strength and spirit. t Views expressed in the journal are exclusively those of the Authors(s) and not the official views of the Force. - Chief Editor 2 Judo Souvenir 2018.indd 2 19-04-2018 6:52:15 PM Contents... 1 Messages 5-38 DG, SSB & Chairman, AIPJCC 2 39 Message ADG, SSB & Vice-Chairman, AIPJCC 3 40 Message Chief Patron 4 IG, SSB & Org.
