BULLETIN ILLINOIS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 1949-1950 1874-1949 SOUTHERN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE This University opened its doors as Southern Illinois Normal University, July 2, 1874, and it will this year celebrate its seventy- fifth anniversary, with appropriate ceremonies, reunions, and pag- eantry, in the Homecoming Diamond Jubilee, October 20-22, 1949. Also, on July 2, 1949, there will be exercises under the title of First Day of School, at which time the cornerstone of the new Education Building will be laid.
