Assembled using public information, this Directory contains listings of services available to Chicago families in the areas of health care, nutrition, social services, education, senior services, and employment organized geographically by Chicago’s 77 Community Areas. Call 3-1-1 for shelter, food, relocation, and social services in situations that don’t pose an immediate life threat. <br>The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services, Senior Services-Area Agency on Aging has a wide array of services and interventions that can support victims of elderly abuse.We can provide in-home services, home delivered meals and adult day services. Emergency funds are also available to provide 24-hour care in a nursing home on a limited basis. </p><p>The Homelessness Prevention Call Center </p><p>The call center’s Information and Referral Specialists screen callers experiencing a shortterm, one-time </p><p>crisis and determine if fund resources are available, such as the City’s <strong>rental assistance </strong>program, the </p><p>State’s <strong>homelessness prevention fund</strong>, or the Emergency Fund organization’s <strong>financial assistance </strong></p><p>program.
