Kaizu, Aisai, Kuwana invite athletes to “Nagaragawa” to participate in the 2020 pre-Tokyo Olympics regatta, triathlon, canoe sprint and beach volleyball. Reference:Kaizu Municipal-board-of-Education sport division (0584-53-1552) ● Outline of Nagaragawa International Regatta Course Nagaragawa International Regatta Course was made by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 1998 at Nagara river in Kaizu-city, Gifu. It is two kilometers North of the Kiso-sansen Public Park Center and is located on the East of the Nagaragawa Service Center. This course is 2 kilometers long and has 10 lanes. Nagaragawa Estuary barrage is 11 kilometers downstream this course, so there is almost no current. This course has gained favourable reviews around the world because of this. In 2005, the first World Rowing Championships in Asia was held at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course. It was in the spotlight, around the world. Center House Based on universal designs, Center House provides ease of accessibility with a view to normalization. There are facilities for wheelchair tennis, grand golf, and various other sports. Finish Tower Course(9.2km) – Course can be set to 10km, 5km, and 3 km. Traning room 12 kinds of exercise machines. Capacity 20 people. The FISA World Rowing Championships 2005, Gifu was held at this course from August 28th to September 4th. This Championship was held by FISA and the Japan Rowing Association. This was the first Rowing Championship to be held in Asia and 1400 rowers from about 60 countries in the world participated. There are 26 different races. In this Championship, which makes it a bigger rowing event than the Summer Olympics, with only 14 races. Nagaragawa International Regatta Course(Nagaragawa Service Center) FISA World Rowing Championships 2005, Gifu. Canada’s National Training Camp before the Beijing Olympics. From July 20th to August 4th, 2008, 12 players and 5 supporting staff had a training camp at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course. They used the 2 kilometer long course, 2 buoys, a motor boat, one meeting room in the Service Center B, a locker room and a boat house. The Canadian Men’s Coxed Eight rowing team won the gold medal in their event at the Beijing Olympics, that year. It is the second largest nationwide. The largest pools are opened in Summer. Kuwana plays host to the biggest outlet mall in Japan : Nagashima Jazz Dream Nabanano sato (Kuwana City) is famous for winther illuminations. It is a flower park. (Kuwana City) Kaizu onsen /Kaizu Spa (Kaizu City) The waters in this luxurious natural spa are rich with iron and salt. Around 1,050L of hot water is issued every second from 1300m underground. There are 25 baths to choose from, such as Hinoki bath, a Japanese style wooden bath with an everflowing stream of water. Suisyo no yu ( Kaizu city) This spa, nested in the middle of the Yoro mountains offers an excellent view of the moon at night. There are various baths to choose from: an open air bath with picturesque mountainside vistas, a bath made from pottery, a daily special bath and many others. Sendohira Komon (Aisai City) This lock controls access to the Kiso and Nagara Rivers. It was constructed in 1902, during the Meiji period, and is the oldest double-lock in Japan. Such is the quality of the engineering work that its two gates are still is used today; a rare historical t reasure. Kiso-sansen Public Park (Kaizu City) In this relaxing grassy park, you can enjoy many thousands of flowers in bloom in addition to a wide range of cultural events held throughout the year. Chiyobo Inari (Kaizu City) This Inari Shrine is located in Hirata-cho, Kaizu City, Gifu. In addition to Fushimi Inari in Kyoto and Toyokawa Inari in Aichi, Ochobo Inari is part of the trio of the most important Inari Shrines in Japan. It is affectionately termed “Ochobosan” by many.
